I've tried the machine on a number of projects, but when it came down to doing a commission to re upholster 4 chairs, it failed. The material was vinyl and it could handle the seams, but when it came to the top stitching the stitches were inconsistent. The needle would vibrate wildly at the extra layer and catch in loops on yhe bottom, as I tried to remove the knots at the bobbin, it took off on it's own sewing without touching the foot. I'm lucky it didn't sew through my finger. The customer was not pleased with the finish on the tops stitching. I removed it several times & re-sewed it costing lots of extra time. I may not get paid for all that work because of this. Yes, I adjusted the tension & ran a test on scrap vinyl. I was sent home with 2 of the chairs to re-do again. I'm very disappointed with this machine.

I’ve had issues with this machine locking up and giving an error message. It started after only a few times using it. I emailed customer support and was told there was basically nothing they could do because I was a few days past the 30 day warranty. I don’t have a singer dealer close by so I would have to pay out of pocket to ship it to Singer to be looked at. I’ve always used Singer machines, but this will be the last Singer I ever purchase.

Love the machine. The motor is powerful enough to sew through all the layers of a quilt. The buttonholes are consistent. Stitch length is even. It is intuitive to use. A great value for the price and a joy to use.

I bought the Singer HD 6800C sewing machine for myself for Christmas. I wanted to buy this machine during the COVID shut down when my old machine broke but it was sold out. I ended up buying a Ja**me HD machine. It's a good machine for basic items but I needed one that could handle denim and also have a lot of stitches without having to hook up to a computer. This machine does that and more. It's super easy to use, seems to be very well built and the instructions are easy to follow. After having it for a month now, I would recommend. It sews really good and is definitely user friendly. The only thing I would say Singer could improve is to include a user manual. That is not included. It must be downloaded on the computer and printed off. No big deal but come on, included the manual.

I was attracted to the 6800c because of its advanced features. I’ll never use 98% of the programmed stitches. However, I love the programmable needle up/down feature. Also the automated thread cutter and stitch knot. Makes securing the beginning and ending of a stitch line so easy. The motor is powerful and pressed through leather and heavy material.

I am very happy with my purchase (HD6800C). I bought this model because it has the stitch speed option and I just love it! I love the price for what I get and can only say one thing I did not like is the color, sorry but wished it came in the new black. Everything else I think is great!

I purchased this machine because I was a Singer owner in the past and enjoyed my machine, my older one which is a basic Singer Classic was purchased at Walmart a few years ago. I have been using it constantly, (I do a lot of sewing, few times a week) so,by purchasing a new machine I just wanted some additional stitches and some of the newer features with a newer machine. It was labeled Heavy Duty so being I do a lot of denim material work, I felt as though this might be a better work horse for my work. It surprised me that it's ability to go over thicker material was struggling more than my OLD CLASSIC machine. It also displayed an error on the screen when I went over these thicker seams. I made a pot holder and it struggled going over the bias tape around the edge. Being it is brand new I felt the need to send it back for inspection and are waiting on the response and it's return. Hopefully there was possibly an adjustment or something small needed. If not I would NOT recommend this machine with the thought of it being Heavy Duty.

This is my 2nd sewing machine and my 2nd singer sewing machine. I am enjoying it very much. It has a lot of bells and whistles compared to my singer from 30 yrs ago and I'm putting it to the test. I feel this heavy duty machine will more than fill my needs of what I put my older machine through, Mardi Gras costumes, dance recital costumes, etc. Still getting used to it, but love it so far. Wouldn't trust any other brand.

I bought a Singer 6800C machine as I really liked its features mentioned by Singer. I received the defective machine as it was not doing the function of automatic threading of needle and also the auto thread cutter was not working proper it was making a very loud sound for good couple of minutes. We spoke to Kathy in Singer Customer Service and just due to her great customer service we tried again and instead of asking for refund we asked for replacement. To our shock the replacement machine came and this time these 2 functions were working perfect in that machine but the actual function of the machine is sewing and it was not working properly. Sewing was not fine and irrespective of any stitch you select, machine was doing same thing some weird zigzag everytime. I’m highly disappointed. No doubt, Kathy was great and very helpful. I got defective machine twice back to back. I used to think Singer as a best brand for sewing machine but it seems like not anymore. I want to give 5 stars to Kathy who handled my case. But this one star is for Singer.

I bought this machine less than a month ago. The thread breaks constantly and no one could help fix the problem. The machine skips stitches also. No one helped me with that problem either. I have asked to return it and no one has yet sent me the return labels.

Changed the needle to denim needle and sewing canvas super easy. Fonts are not that great but it’ll do. Easy to thread and good machine.. Manual is not very helpful to me

The machine arrived just a little damaged around the base of the machine, and it wasn’t done in the box because there were no holes in the box. Beautiful machine but I could not use the needle threading mechanism. It was impossible to get my hands in the area. I used a hand sewing simple wire threader and just barely got it to push through the eye and pull back. Too hard to use as a standard method. Once “hand” threaded, the stitches were really nice, but I returned it because of the needle threading and the slight damage to the base.

I took delivery of the sewing machine 3 days after ordering because I chose to pay for the 2 day shipping and it came on time. The sewing machine is powerful enough to sew through denim which is why I purchased this particular model. My only complaints are, that not all the included items on the image on the box were in the box, and 2 particular quality control items plague this machine, 1- the bobbin does not wind evenly and 2- the foot pedal's plug has to be in a certain position in order to work. Once I found the right position for the plug, I taped the wire for the pedal in place onto the sewing machine. A slight inconvenience, but I won't encounter any downtime.

So far I like this machine. I'm still learning about it. I use it to carry to a quilting group that meets each week. I'm 73 but it's light enough for me. I bought the rolling case on Singer and it fits in it perfectly. I'm having a bit of a problem with the bobbin feed, but other than that the machine is working fine.
