The wings are soft and detachable with velcro, and the main book bag is a fluffy soft and can fit a phone a wallet, object's close to that size. The straps are larger than expected and adjustable (which I appreciated), it even has clips so you could remove the straps and convert it into a side bag instead of book bag if you just wanted to have one strap to the side. Very cute and absolutely loved my purchase.
