Meet the planter that changes everything.
“I love plants… but why do mine always die?”
If you’ve ever come home to wilted leaves, struggled to remember watering schedules, or felt guilty tossing another dead plant - you’re not alone. According to the University of Wisconsin Horticulture Extension, improper watering is the most common cause of houseplant death.
This is why we re-invented the self-watering planter:
Our Self-Watering Planter keeps plants thriving for up to 4 weeks — with a larger water reservoir, minimalist matte design, and clear water level window so you’ll never have to guess (or stress) about watering again.
Why You’ll Love It:
·Bigger water reservoir — lasts up to 4 weeks between waterings, less refilling
·Water level indicator — know exactly when to refill, no guesswork
·Transparent inner insert — easily check soil moisture and root health
·Wick system inspired by nature — roots drink only what they need, preventing overwatering
·Breathing design — airflow keeps roots healthy and prevents root rot
·Modern minimalist look — smooth matte finish complements any decor
What’s Included
·Outer Pot (1) — Smooth, matte white finish with a minimalist vibe
·Transparent Inner Insert (1) — For easy root and soil moisture monitoring
·Watering Wick (2) — One to use, one for backup (or extra-thirsty plants)
Product FAQs
How does the self-watering system work?
Our planter uses a two-part design:
·Inner pot with drainage + ventilation holes
·Outer pot with water reservoir
·Wick draws water up only when neededThis keeps roots aerated with moisture + oxygen — no soggy roots and no dry spells.
How do I water my plant?
·After planting water once from the top to moisten all soil.
·After 2–3 weeks refill only through the water inlet.
·Watch the indicator and refill when low.
·For dry-loving plants (ZZ, snake, dracaena): wait 2–5 days after the indicator shows empty before refilling to let soil breathe.
How often do I need to water?
Our 6" planter holds 33 fl oz and the 4" holds 11 fl oz — up to 65% more than typical planters.
Once adjusted, many plants can go up to 4 weeks between refills (depends on plant + environment).
Will it work for any plant?
Yes — just match care to the plant:
·Drought-tolerant plants: airy soil + dry period after indicator empties
·Thirsty/tropical plants: add a second wick for faster water flow
·Any plant can adapt over time
What are water roots — are they OK?
Some plants naturally grow water roots into the reservoir.
They are smooth and translucent — and perfectly healthy!
They’re adapted to drink water directly.
️ Will roots rot if water is always in the reservoir?
No — the inner pot sits above the water line.
Ventilation holes allow oxygen in, and the wick pulls only what’s needed.
Water roots (if they grow) are made to be submerged.
What potting mix should I use?
Use light, well-draining indoor mix.
Heavy soil blocks airflow and can prevent the wick from working properly.
Why is airflow so important?
Even the Royal Horticultural Society says:
“Roots need oxygen… well-aerated soil is vital for good growth.”
Our design adds airflow from the bottom and sides — while keeping consistent moisture with the reservoir.
Can I water from the top?
Only during setup or after repotting.
After that, use the water inlet to keep moisture balanced.
How do I clean the planter?
·Quick clean: empty reservoir and rinse outer pot.
·Deep clean: remove inner pot + wick; use warm soapy water or soak in vinegar water for 15 min to remove mineral buildup.
What size should I choose?
Pick a planter 1–2 inches larger than your root ball.
Too small stalled growth
Too large soil may stay wet too long
Do you offer other sizes/colors?
Currently: 4" & 6" in white.
