They work, sorta. The button to get them apart takes a screwdriver to pull them apart but they come apart where they are not supposed to really easy if the dog catches the collar on something and pulls or if playing with another dog and the dog pulls it off. My dogs are coonhounds so they are harder on the collar than a golden, labrodoodle, havashit might be.

I was looking forward to this collar. But, when I went to cut it down to fit my dog the mechanism was so stiff I could hardly press it to get it to release. When I finally got it to, it bent so badly it now won’t stay hooked. I had to rig it to get it to stay. I cannot recommend this collar.
