I like cooking steaks to perfection and that is hard on a grill and not hot enough. I use a Cast Iron pan and seer them in that, in the garage with the door open for the exhaust gasses from the conversion of liquid propane to heat. Then they go in the oven on 250 for however long it takes to be perfect with a remote temperature gauge. The pan heats up very evenly to whatever temp I like as it has 200,000 BTU. The burner is a flat stable platform. I added four "screw in the legs" levelers to ensure the paltform is 100% level as you want to butter and juices to stay centered in the pan. If you just heat fluids then who cares. Even on more windy days the flame stays. I have used it for a "pizza bottom crisper" with a corderite stone on top. I have used it to get a bearing in a wheel hub and bending plexiglass. The gas regulator works precise and the propane/air mixture allows you to get an efficient flam. So glad I bought it.

Love this burner. Will be using this to boil down maple syrup and scald chickens. That means a LOT of weight on the frame. This burner not only produces a very hot flame, but I won't worry about the legs bending under the weight. Yes, I've had that happen with cheaper burners that are sold in box stores around Thanksgiving. And this the hotter flame, I'll save a lot of time.

It is a pretty significant burner. It’s initially intimidating but I am learning how to adjust it. I purchased the cover too but was hoping it came with the legs it showed in the picture. I did not see it for purchase any where. I have only used it twice, once to cure the wok ( it did a great job). The other to stir fry.

I like to eat a lot of steak/brats and I got tired of breaking out my gas weber, so I have been looking for an easier way to cook a good steak. I tried cooking steak on my kitchen stove top and that didn't work because the house filled up with smoke and I didn't like the necessity of finishing it in the oven. So then I started thinking about a way to cook steak in my garage with the doors closed due to cold weather. I stumbled across the Gas One website and my prayers were answered!! I have been using this burner (I named him Brutus) for about a week and it is the bomb!! I can get a perfect well-done ribeye in 11 minutes (5.5 per side) in a 12" lodge cast iron skillet. It really doesn't smoke up my garage very bad and If I open my garage doors the smoke clears out in a couple minutes. This burner can get super hot, very quickly and does not require a high flame to cook steak, bacon, etc. It is made of heavy duty materials and think it is going to last a long time. I am looking forward to a lot of good cooking on Brutus, thank you guys at Gas One for producing an excellent product!! Rick

The folks at customer service walked me through troubleshooting with a new unit that wouldn't light, until we were both satisfied that the problem was in the (brand new) fitting on the propane tank. And they were exactly right, although they were willing to send a new regulator anyway. Real, live, competent customer service is a rare and appreciated part of this company.

Well opened the box and was very pleased. Its a beast of a burner. This Hawaiian is very happy. We cook alot of big meals here. And steam alot of foods in hawaiian traditional foods. I put it through a bunch of test and it passed it all with flying colors. definitely a must have!

I bought this because I like to deep fry and do clam bakes. This burner has excellent control and got the temperature up fast. It was easy keeping the oil inside the cooking range even after putting in a cool bird. I wish I had purchased this years ago. Most of the burners are too small to be effective but this one is not, I love it!!
