Design on reading pillow is sublimated so no need to worry about design falling off item! Pillow has a zipper opening on top. Easy to take off and wash. The pillow insert has a zipper opening so you can add or replace the polyester filling if needed. Pillow insert inside is a poly-fill pillow. 

Hand Wash or spot clean lay flat to dry. No bleach. Slight fading to be expected after first wash.
