My friend had an old mattock head without a handle. She wasn’t sure that it was worth saving. So I took it and bought a new handle for it and gave it a new lease on life. My friend was very happy.

Picked up some of these handles for some Pulaski heads I have. Really excited about the 40” length. At 6’ 3 I need all the extra handle length I can get! Grain orientation was great, handles were straight, and there weren’t any blemishes or knots whatsoever. I went ahead and used an oak wedge, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

Hopefully I don’t need to dig any firebreaks but if I did I would grab the 40” over the 36”. I like the longer handle which adds up with every stroke.

I have been waiting for this length of handle for a long time. Finally, Whiskey River answered my prayers. The handle is very high quality. I received the 40" pulaski handle and wow it was awesome. Grain was straight and it looked great. I hung a pulaski head on it and gave it to my boss and he is carrying it on the fire line already. He said he used the **** out of it on the last fire (we are on a controlled fire team). He said the only the bad thing about carrying a tool that looks like such a beast is everyone has something they want you to chop. I took that as a compliment. Thank you Whiskey River
