I think this will work fine. We tried our dogs on it. They were able to get on the bed. I was looking at the instructions and we had no Velcro strip or handle attached to the bed.

I have a 12 year old pug, boston terrier mix. Needed some steps that were comfortable and also tall enough to go up to my bed. These are perfect! Being able to zip off the top steps is great. Super easy for her to go up and down. Very easy to clean too. Just zip off the cover and toss in the wash.

These stairs are really only suitable for small dogs. I have two Yorkies, weighing 13 and 14 lbs, and even for them, the design isn’t ideal. They won't stay on the top step for long to look out the window because it’s too narrow. The top stair should be wider so dogs can comfortably sit or lay down. I’d love to see the company consider making a wider version of these stairs. If created with wider steps, we are willing to provide review for a sample version!!
